This scarf is woven in clasped weft technique, a 6 hour activity just to weave the scarf, without adding the time to set up the loom or finish the fringes.
Even though the technique is slow, its satisfying and challenging as you draw the shapes with your weft. The weft is 30/2 silk and the warp is 2 ply Bendigo classic wool.
The silk weft changes the weight of the fabric making it lighter than an all wool scarf and giving it a lovely drape.
Care: Wash separately. Silk loves dye so this needs to be washed by itself in just warm water, and a suitable wool detergent, rinsed, put in water with a little fabric condition and then spun. Hang to dry and steam press.
Size: Woven length 170cm plus fringes Woven width 22cm
